Our Methodology
How Boran Law Approaches Every Matter
Every engagement at Boran Law begins the same way: with a written record of the scope of work agreed, the documents or items to be covered, and the fee. Nothing begins before the family has read and accepted that record. The scope can be extended later if the family chooses — but only after a further written agreement, and only at a separately agreed additional fee.
Within that framework, the pace and the process belong to the family. Boran Law will make suggestions, note questions worth considering, and flag anything that appears to require attention. The family decides what to do with those observations. The lawyer's role is to make the picture clearer — not to determine the outcome.
The written summary, recording, or coordination document produced at the end of each service is the family's working document. It is drafted to be read by people who are not lawyers, and it is designed to be kept alongside the documents it describes so that anyone reading the two together — now or in the future — can understand what was reviewed and what, at the time of the review, the family's intentions were.
Service I
Ancestral Document Review
A patient service for clients who hold older family documents — earlier wills, family trees, land titles, correspondence — and would like an unhurried review of how those documents relate to the present-day succession framework. The work covers careful reading of each document supplied, a plain-language written summary of what each appears to say, and a short note describing any questions the family may wish to consider before any further step is taken.
The review is the family's working document and remains entirely the client's to keep or share at their own pace.
What the service includes:
- Careful reading of all documents supplied by the family

- A short note of questions the family may wish to consider
- A brief assessment of how older documents sit alongside the current Thai succession framework
How the work proceeds:
Family brings or sends documents. A brief conversation covers what each document is and where it came from.
Documents are read carefully. Where translation or further research is needed, this is noted and discussed with the family before proceeding.
A plain-language written summary is prepared and shared with the family for review before being finalised.
Original documents are returned to the family alongside the summary and the note of questions.

Heirloom & Cultural Asset Recording
A focused service for families with heirlooms, art, or other culturally significant pieces that they would like properly documented for long-term family records. The work covers a structured conversation with the family about the items concerned, photographic recording of each piece, a written description including provenance where available, and the drafting of a clear annex to the existing or planned will so each item's intended path is recorded calmly.
The work is paced by the family and may be carried out over several visits.
What the service includes:
- Structured conversation about each item — its history, significance, and intended destination
- Photographic recording of each piece included in the scope
- Written description with provenance notes where the family can provide them
- A will annex drafted to record each item's intended path in clear terms
How the work proceeds:
Initial conversation to understand the scope — which items are to be recorded and what family background is available.
Recording visits — one or more, at the family's convenience — to photograph and describe each item.
Draft will annex prepared and shared for the family's review before finalisation.
Final record — photographs, descriptions, and signed annex — provided to the family in a durable format.

The work covers a written record of the family's present position, a structured set of conversations about long-term family priorities, drafting of the relevant documents, and the establishment of a calm review schedule so the arrangement can be adjusted gently over time.
The coordination is the family's working framework, designed to support continued conversation rather than to fix any single configuration in place permanently.
What the service includes:
- Written record of the family's present property position and succession priorities
- Structured conversations about long-term family intentions across generations
- Drafting of relevant succession and testamentary documents
- Established review schedule for periodic revisiting of arrangements
